Once again, the Rejoicing teams embark upon an adventure in Team League play. TheRejoicingTeam_B, playing in the Lasker section, should begin posting offers at the game forum at 19:00, Tuesday, January 28th. TheRejoicingTeam_A, top seed in the Karpov section, has a bye in the first round. Players on Team A will not need to post on the game forum until Tuesday, February 1st at 19:00 server time.
Be sure to set private 0 and set noescape 0 (In your FICS console).
You will need to make sure your Team League password is set, so you can log in at the game forum. To set your password, tell teamleague set password (your password). Then at www.teamleague.org, log in using your FICS user name and the password you created for Team League.
Every Tuesday, shortly after 19:00 server time (PST), or Wednesday morning, post your 3 time offers. A sample message is given below:
Hi RoyRogersC,
I can play:
Wednesday 3:30
Sunday 18:00
Monday 17:30
If one of these times works for you, let me know, and I will set the time. If not, I look forward to your proposals.

After you have offered your times (Make all offers in HH:MM format, PST time), click “Submit.” Be sure to check back at your forum to see your opponent’s offers. Do not set the time until you and your opponent have agreed on the time.
The command “tell teamleague set email (your email)” will forward all Game Forum messages to your mail inbox, and “set mailmess 1”, forwards all FICS messages to your inbox. Although neither of these commands is necessary, I have found them very useful in alerting me to new developments.
If for some reason you will not be able to play on a given week, let me know on Sunday and an alternate will take your place.
A discussion, “Tournament Strategy,” has been started in the Chess Forum. Players can post what strategies help them most in Team League play as well as over-the-board (OTB) tournaments. Do you run a mile before the big game, go on a fishing trip, eat cot liver oil, or study chess puzzles? Do you read a book (I hope not), eat sandwiches, or do push-ups during your Team League games? Join the forum and share your strategies!
You may also wish to add your teammates to your notify (friends) list using the command: +not (user). The Rejoicing Channel is open for Team League discussions or just for teammates to share an occasional word of encouragement. Channelbot had a couple glitches, and some members who joined were enjoined. If you have any trouble rejoining the channel, let me know.
Stats for our team, as well as times of teammate’s upcoming games will be posted daily at T45 Live! For up to the minute info, check www.teamleague.org
I hope everyone enjoys this Team League season to the fullest. We are the Rejoicing Team, so rejoice in the Lord always!
Go Team!
